Milton Fire and Rescue proudly protects 3500 people living in an area of approximately 65 square miles. We also cover 25 miles of the Ohio River and we have automatic aid with Bedford Fire & Rescue giving us about 150 total square miles to cover countywide. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. We are an all Volunteer Fire Department. Organized in 1964, Milton Fire & Rescue is located along the Ohio River, across from Madison Indiana, and halfway between Louisville Kentucky, and Cincinnati Ohio. We are a non-taxing 501C3 Fire Department that operates primarily from fundraisers and subscriptions from the community as well as donations. Also located at Station # 2 is the Air Methods Medical Helicopter known as Kentucky 11. Their Bedford Base has living quarters, a landing pad, and a hanger next to Station # 2 on our property that we lease to them.
