I would like to take a minute and thank the members of Milton Fire & Rescue. We have a small membership that completes big tasks each year and 2015 was another year of up's and down's. In 2015 the Volunteers responded to 200 calls for service. They attended 35+ details including fish fries, haunted corn maze, cleaning details, school fire prevention programs and many others. They have trained over 700 hours combined including departmental training, employer training and fire schools. Each one of these Volunteers have their own families and jobs that they leave just for the love of the department and the community.
I may be the Chief but the Volunteers that make up Milton Fire & Rescue run this department and make it look good. Without them we would not be where we are. We have a great department and I am very proud of each member of the department for all the effort they put in. The crazy thing is, they don't even have to. They do it because they love it. I am so fortunate to have the crew that I do. No matter what situation presents itself, the Volunteers deal with it and make it happen. I couldn't ask for a better crew.
I would also like to thank the community for their support. The individuals that donate to our department and come to all our fund raisers help more than they know. Every donation to our department counts and it is great seeing everybody attend these events. We could not do it without the support of the community and we thank you for that. We have always said, if you ever want to see your Fire Department then stop by anytime you see us there. We would love to show you around our Stations.
Lets hope for a great 2016. Please stay safe and if you need us we will be here.
Chief Jason Long, 8501
